we're having baby #2!
we’re so excited to share with you that our second lil King baby is entering the world this October!
humbled. expectant. in awe, once again.
i’m currently 13 weeks pregnant, and we found out at three weeks so it feels like we’ve known for a bit of time. and though every pregnancy symptom seems to be so similar to our first, this baby feels entirely different. time has flown by and i’ve spent lots of thought processing — with what time has allowed me. it’s different when your pregnant for the second time; when your first is active, you’re starting a new business (hello earthside) and juggling a couple of different life things + decisions.
but in this pregnancy, there’s been a roar of confidence. fear hasn’t been allowed to dance with my joy during this. we are humbled and feel so undeserving to love another child that has been crafted by the Maker. expectant for the faithful promises of God. and in awe— because there truly is no other word to describe the miracle of life.
aspen and this baby will be 19 months a part, and i have so many prayers for a joyful little friendship between them. and if you’re curious about this sorta thing (some people are & usually are worried not to ask in fear of offending, but we’re an open book on this journey), we were hoping to get pregnant. i guess we’ve always dreamed of different footsteps running through the hallways of our home, of extra crumbs between carseats & having more children than hands. Lord knows if all that will happen, but we figured that since God gave us each other at an early age, we might as well meet this next generation when He gives them to us too.
and if you don’t know a bit of our story — we weren’t suppose to have aspen. i had gotten a call from a doctor weeks before conceiving that i would struggle with infertility because of irregularities. we decided to start trying with this baby because we had no idea if conceiving was an anomaly and we desired for our kids to be close in age. i struggle with sharing this, because i know God’s just as faithful in the quick answers and in the long journeys. i don’t want our good news to be a stumbling block, an added hurt or a comparison. but I do share because i’ve seen living proof that man’s words hold no position of rival to God’s plan.
miracle. miracle. miracle.
this baby seems even more unknown to me. my second. a child that will probably be so different than his/her older sister. a special & unique lil bean that will own a different place of my heart that hasn’t yet held footprints. a different face. a different perspective. different.
if you’ve read this; thank you. i’ll never get over how there is another person out there (besides my v supportive cody) that might care enough to read my words. sometimes finding the right words feels like an awkward hug or a missed wave, but i am truly honored you care to hear of our little, growing family.
